Es ingeniero de Caminos, Canales y Puertos, iniciando su carrera profesional en empresas de construcci\u00f3n met\u00e1lica y dando el salto a la pol\u00edtica 10 a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s como director de Xestur en A Coru\u00f1a, desde donde ascendi\u00f3 a director general del Instituto Gallego da Vivienda y Suelo (IGVS), cargo que abandon\u00f3 en 1990.<\/p>\n

Tambi\u00e9n ha ejercido como director general de Formaci\u00f3n y Empleo (1993-1994) y consejero de Industria de la Xunta, fue presidente de la Autoridad Portuaria de A Coru\u00f1a y director general de Begano.<\/p>\n
